Explore our streamlined process for fast, accurate results below.

Our streamlined process for quick imaging results

At Sage Veterinary Imaging, we understand the importance of timely results and accurate answers when it comes to your pet's health.

Our process is designed to make it easy and efficient for you to book an appointment and receive imaging results. From start to finish, we prioritize speed and accuracy, ensuring that your veterinarian can use the diagnosis to make an effective treatment plan for your pet.

By getting the right diagnosis early on and using the highest quality diagnostic technology, you will ultimately save money, and your pet will spend less time in stressful hospital environments.

Step 1: Book an appointment

Ask your vet to fill out our easy referral form. We’ll call you within one hour to find a time for your visit. We’ll reach out to your vet for any necessary health records.

Step 2: Visit our imaging center

Whether you're visiting us in Round Rock, TX; Spring, TX; or Sandy, UT, you'll get the same dedication to uncovering answers using the most advanced imaging technology available.

Step 3: Get answers for your pet

Before pickup, we’ll call you with imaging results, a diagnosis, and next steps. A formal report goes to your vet in 24 hours, and images are available on request.

All the imaging services of a big hospital…but faster, lower cost, and with less stress for your pet.

  • Our Philips 3T MRI allows us to obtain true human-quality images with twice the resolution in half the time of a common 1.5T MRI. This means your pet spends less time under anesthesia and you get a precise diagnosis. 3T MRI is very rare in veterinary medicine, but you could be missing something without it, especially for small dogs and cats. Our imaging approach involves much more than state-of-the-art technology and extends to our communication and collaboration with you and your vet.

Unlike most specialty hospitals, an expert SVI radiologist monitors every case in real-time, adjusting the approach to customize your pet's images for the clearest possible diagnosis. Then, instead of sending the images out to another company for a radiology report, we provide the answer and the images to you as soon as the exam is complete, with the formal report to follow within 24 hours. At SVI you will never wait for an answer.

  • With human-quality CT, we are able to get answers quickly and minimize or eliminate the need for general anesthesia, which is normally used to keep the patient still for imaging. Just as in human medicine, the number of "slices" a CT can take in one snapshot matters a lot. 128 slices allows us to instantly capture your pet's entire area of concern in the highest possible quality. Our imaging approach involves much more than state-of-the-art technology and extends to our communication and collaboration with you and your vet.

  • We will always recommend the lowest cost, most effective imaging tool that will get you the answer and the diagnosis you need. Often this means an ultrasound is the best choice for imaging your pet. It's fast, cost-effective, and allows us to perform a range of image-guided biopsies like Fine Needle Aspirates, and quickly get answers using our in-house digital cytology lab. We also offer echocardiography or ultrasound of the heart and all consultations are read by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist.

  • At Sage Veterinary Imaging, image-guided biopsies represent a cutting-edge approach to diagnosing pet health concerns with precision and care. This minimally invasive procedure uses advanced imaging technologies like ultrasound, CT, or MRI to accurately guide a needle to the target area, allowing for precise tissue sampling without unnecessary surgery. The process minimizes stress, recovery time, and the risk of complications, ensuring your furry friend’s comfort and safety.

  • Our onsite IDEXX digital cytology lab allows us to take biopsies and blood samples, and turn those into a diagnosis within hours of your pet's visit. This is a very recent advancement in veterinary medicine that allows us to investigate a range of possible conditions and make recommendations for additional treatment or imaging while your pet is still in our care, rather than having you come back at a later date.

  • Through our partner, CATT - Centers for Advanced Thyroid Therapy, we perform thyroid imaging (scintigraphy) to precisely understand the stage and extent of your cat's hyperthyroidism. Then we inject their thyroid with radioactive I-131 to shrink the overactive thyroid tissue.

In the vast majority of cats, I-131 is a permanent cure for hyperthyroidism and it is a one-time treatment--they stay with us for two days and are released to you once their radiation level falls to safe limits as dictated by state regulations and medical safety. This same treatment has been performed safely on humans for decades and is highly effective, leading to a major improvement in quality of life and elimination of expensive thyroid medications.
